Sisters of St. Joseph is a nonprofit, mission-driven organization based in Brentwood, New York. For over a century, they have served the vulnerable and marginalized communities of Long Island through a wide range of social, educational, and humanitarian programs.
Their work spans multiple initiatives, including sustainability and environmental justice, immigration support, refugee resettlement, education, social services, and community outreach. Rooted in values of service, equity, and compassion, their mission is to respond to real community needs and create lasting positive impact for those most in need.
Role Overview:
In this role, I managed and improved the organization’s multisite ecosystem end-to-end. I worked with WordPress, where I was responsible for SEO optimization, image management (formatting, compression, and performance optimization), and ensuring the website remained fast, accessible, and user-friendly. I designed new pages and websites, improved existing ones, and continuously tested the site for usability and accessibility, refining content to make it clearer and more approachable for diverse audiences.
I used Google Analytics to track page views and user behavior, identify problem areas, and guide ongoing improvements. Using Blackbaud’s page builder, I added new site components and resolved backend CMS issues related to dynamic data, including posts, categories, and content structure. For more complex challenges, I worked directly with Blackbaud technical support.
On the CRM side, I supported enterprise-level fundraising operations using Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge. This included creating and testing donation forms, ensuring fundraising campaigns functioned correctly, and troubleshooting CRM-related issues. I also resolved email campaign usability and layout problems using Constant Contact.
In parallel, I conducted UX/UI design and UX research, collaborating closely with multiple departments to understand their missions and translate their needs into effective digital solutions. I also communicated in Spanish with non–native English-speaking students to better understand their experiences and improve the usability of Sisters of St. Joseph’s digital products for a broader, more inclusive audience.

Cross-Department Communication & Collaboration
A key part of my work at Sisters of St. Joseph was clear, empathetic communication across many departments, ministries, and stakeholders. I worked closely with program leaders, staff, and Sisters to understand their needs and translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language - reducing confusion and friction while building trust. Regular participation in meetings, cross-department collaborations, and community gatherings was essential to staying aligned with each program’s mission and ensuring that digital solutions truly supported their work.
